Mr. William Walter Nowag, age 85, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Nowag was a member of Hope Baptist Church. He worked in his father's butcher shop before joining the United States Navy as an Airman. After being honorably discharged from service, he worked briefly for the United States Postal Service and as a salesman for Kellogg's Cereals. He also owned Art Krafters, a sign painting business, and Judy's Perennials, both in Downers Gove.
Mr. Nowag was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. Nowag and Helen M. Bjornell Nowag, sisters Betty Zindrick and Sharon Nowag, brother Don Nowag.
Mr. Nowag is survived by his loving wife, Judith Ann Nowag; children, Lisa Boley and Susanne Blattel; four grandchildren, Carl (Vonette) Boley, Eric (Katie) Boley, Lauren Blattel and Jessica (Daniel) Blattel Petersen; one great grandson, Titus Boley; Nancy Zindrick Russell, Meagan Russell and other nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hope Baptist Church in Winder with Pastor Steven Smallwood officiating.
A private interment was held in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
