William Thomas "Bill" Greeson Jr., age 69, of Hoschton, died peacefully on August 29th at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was the first born son of Joan Krist and William Thomas Greeson Sr. He grew up in Barrow and Gwinnett counties, where he lived and worked all of his life. He has countless church friends, lifelong friends and close family that he dearly loved and treasured. He considered his wife, children, and grandchildren his dearest and most treasured gifts from God.
When he met Ginger Bailey at Union Grove Baptist Church as a young man, his life was forever changed. He traded in his corvette for a wife and family and never looked back. They married at Union Grove, raised their children there, and attended faithfully their entire marriage. In recent years, Bill was head of building and grounds for the church and served in that role faithfully and with great pride.
Bill was a hard worker and a dedicated and consistent provider. He was a loving husband and father. He took his job of leading his family and being their provider to heart. Although he worked hard in everything he ever did, he always made time to play and be silly with his children and eventually grandchildren, who affectionately and lovingly call him Pappy.
Bill was preceded in death by his father W.T. Greeson and his younger brother Jackie Greeson. Bill is survived by his wife Ginger Greeson, his daughters Brandy (Chris) Vater of Jefferson and Holly (Robby) Cafferata of Hoschton and grandchildren Emory and Everett Vater, and Colton and Presley Cafferata. He is also survived by his mother Joan and his sister Gloria Hicks, and by numerous siblings-in-love, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Auburn, Georgia with Rev. Jim Peevy officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the Church.
