Mr. Wendell Royce Griffeth, age 78, of Winder, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Mr. Griffeth was a lifelong resident of Barrow County. He served in the Georgia National Guard and retired from AT&T as a cable splicer. Mr. Griffeth was a very generous man. He was devoted to his family as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Griffeth was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas N. Griffeth and Ruth Wright Griffeth; and his grandson, Curtis Alexander Griffeth.
Mr. Griffeth is survived by his children; Rodney (Mary) Griffeth of Glennville and Sonya (Bart) Woodall of Statham; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) McNair of Glennville, Steven Griffeth of Glennville, Colby (Courtney) Woodall of Fayetteville, Christopher Woodall of Statham, and Darrell Woodall of Statham; one great-grandchild, Caysen Woodall of Fayetteville; and former spouse, Dorothy Griffeth of Statham.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Hal Tapp officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
