Mrs. Sarah Jo Hamilton Gordon "MomaJo" Age 84 of Winder, Georgia died Tuesday May 17th 2016. A native of Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Frankie and Artillery "Bud" Phillips of Statham.
Mrs. Gordon was a Barrow County egg farmer with her late husband Royce T. Hamilton as well as a known Avon rep for many years. She also retired from Westing House Electrical Corporation as a coil winder.
She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and first husband Royce T. Hamilton, her second husband Hugh Cross of Loganville and her third husband and best friend Virgil Gordon, as well as her first born John Franklin Hamilton.
Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Christopher Nijack of Winder. Grandchildren Myra Childers, Angie Roberts, Melinda Boyd Kruger, Josh Boyd. Great Grandchildren Austin Childers, Lela Kruger and Wyatt Kruger and one very special first cousin, Charlie Bryant.
"MomaJo" was a lover of life and all things entertaining. She made some wonderful tea cakes and always dressed to impress. She was never afraid to speak her mind, but always maintained being a southern lady…..most of the time.
A Graveside Service wil be held at 3:00 P. M. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
