Mr. Ronald Arlen Berryman, age 95, a lifelong Hoschton resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Berryman was the oldest living member of Walnut Fork Baptist Church. He retired from the State of Georgia Department of Transportation as an engineer and served as a bus driver for the Jackson County School System. In his younger years, he was very athletic and an incredible basketball player. Mr. Berryman was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and farming. He was a hardworking man and was very well loved by all that knew him.
Mr. Berryman was preceded in death by the love of his life, Geraldine Parks Berryman; parents, C.T. Berryman and Cora McNeal Berryman; siblings, Erminee Hulsey, Avaree Langford, Beatrice Cash, Inez Hill, Loke Berryman, Lamar Berryman, and Charles Berryman; granddaughter, Jessica Worsham; great-grandchild, Gunner LeBlanc; and son-in-law, Jed Cantrell.
Mr. Berryman is survived by his children; Denise Cantrell of Jefferson, Richard (Gayle) Berryman of Jefferson, Alan (Kathy) Berryman of Hoschton, Wayne Berryman of Winder, and Angie (Andrew) Griffeth of Danielsville; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends also survive.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Chaplain Tim Hunter officiating and Mr. Darryl Parks delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow the service at Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home.
