Phillip Almond Barnette

Mr. Phillip Almond Barnette, age 90, of Winder, Georgia passed away November 25, 2023. He was a son of the late Early and Gertrude Grizzle Barnette. Mr. Barnette was preceded by his wife, Jean Martin Barnette in 2020 and by his brothers, Harold Barnette and Everette Barnette. A Barrow County resident for most of his life, he was a longtime member of the Winder First Baptist Church, where he attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class and served as the Head Usher. Mr. Barnette was a member of Winder Lodge #333, F. & A. M. and the Winder Lions Club. He and his family operated Barnette Brothers Enterprises, Inc., located on North Broad Street in Winder since 1960.

Surviving are Sons and Daughters-in-law, Phil and Diane Barnette, Mike and Kathy Barnette, Daughter and Son-in-law, Lynn and Gary Stinchcomb all of Winder, Georgia, Brother, Charles Barnette of Statham, Georgia, Sister, Sue Stewart of Florida, Seven Grandchildren and eighteen Great Grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. at The Winder First Baptist Church with Dr. John Talley and Rev. Chad Mantooth officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 1:00 P. M.
