Odanious Mclocklin Lackey

Mrs. Odanious Mae McLocklin Lackey, age 99, of Statham, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Mrs. Lackey was born on August 4, 1924 to the late John Nathaniel McLocklin and the late Ila Mae Boyd McLocklin. She lived her entire life in Statham, Georgia, and graduated from Statham High School. She married Joseph T. Lackey on January 17, 1948 and was married for 56 years. Odanious and Joseph spent their years together on a farm in Statham growing chickens. She attended the First Baptist Church in Statham.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Lackey was preceded in death by her six brothers; E.L. “Dock” McLocklin, James McLocklin, Chester McLocklin, Euraneous McLocklin, C.W. McLocklin, and Bunt McLocklin.

Mrs. Lackey is survived by a cherished host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. John Burchfield officiating and Mr. Wayne McLocklin delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow the service at the McLocklin Family Cemetery in Statham. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at Carter Funeral Home.
