Mrs. Katie Sue Harbin Reynolds

Mrs. Katie Sue Harbin Reynolds, a beloved member of the Winder community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101. Born on January 16, 1924, Mrs. Reynolds lived an amazing life characterized by devotion, service, and a love for her family.

Katie retired as a supervisor with Empire Manufacturing Center, where she was known for her leadership and dedication. After her retirement, she committed over twenty years of her life to volunteer service at Winder-Barrow Hospital, embodying her generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Her recent attendance at Winder Wesleyan Church reflected her ongoing commitment to her faith. 

Mrs. Reynolds was the quintessential southern lady—an incredible cook whose delicious meals brought family and friends together. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing Bingo and cheering for her beloved Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia Bulldogs. She will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. 

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Jewel Reynolds; son, Phillip Michael "Squeak" Reynolds; parents, John Lewis Harbin and Hattie Wilson Harbin; siblings, Rob Harbin, Ethel Harbin, Mettie Harbin Voyles, Henry Harbin, Crate Harbin, Janie Poe, Edward Harbin; grandchild, Casey Goodner; and son-in-law, Larry Grice. 

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her children; Raymond (Susan) Reynolds Sr., Larry (Martha) Reynolds Sr., Elaine Grice, and Tim (Marcia) Reynolds; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Myra Childers; along with a host of extended family and friends. 

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home with Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home. 

Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Mrs. Reynolds.
