Mrs. Mary Ann Finch Prater, age 87, of Winder, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Mrs. Prater was a devoted member of Midway Christian Church. She loved caring for others. She served as a nurse and then later in life as a teacher. Mary Ann was always available to lend a listening ear.
Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by many loving family members including her husband, James “Jimmy” Prater Sr., and daughters Linda and Melody Prater.
Mrs. Prater is survived by her son, Jim Prater Jr., granddaughters, Cyndi and Hannah (Jeremy), and great-grandson, Hunter.
The graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Ann Prater will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Burchfield officiating.
The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mercy Health Center at 700 Oglethorpe Ave. Athens, Georgia 30606, for the loving care that they provided to her daughter, Melody.
