Mr. Marvin Alexander Baugh, 87, of Andersonville, GA passed away on March 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00AM in Ellaville City Cemetery with Rev. Gary Boyles officiating.
Mr. Baugh was born August 1, 1934 in Ellaville, Georgia to Herbert Stevens Baugh and Mary Helen McLeod Baugh. He was a graduate of Schley County High School and attended Georgia Tech. Mr. Baugh was a mechanical engineer by trade and worked for many companies over the years, building bridges and manufacturing plants. After retirement he was elected Mayor of Andersonville, GA for eleven years from March of 2008 until December of 2019. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Frances Hendon Baugh and a grandson, Michael Smith.
Survivors include his sons, Lynn Baugh of Savannah, GA and Alex Baugh of Andersonville, GA; a daughter, Pam Smith and her husband, Rickey of Auburn, GA; two grandchildren, Seth Baugh and his wife, Amy and Michelle Leyva and her husband, TJ; five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Meikle, Benjamin Leyva, Devin Leyva, Jasmine Cox, and Cameron Cox; a brother, Steve Baugh and his wife, Barbara; and a nephew, Steven Baugh and his wife, Kristin and their three children, Sadie, Chandler and Griffin.
