Martha Bowles Skinner

Mrs. Martha Bowles Skinner, age 79, of Winder, Georgia passed away July 7, 2023. Mrs. Skinner was preceded by Her Husband of 59 years, Donald Skinner, Parents, Ralph and Geraldine Bowles, Brother, David Bowles, Son-in-law, Charles Goman, and Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Hazel Maynard Skinner and W. N Skinner, Jr.

She was a longtime member of Nazareth United Methodist Church where she served as the church organist. Martha was a loving, caring, Godly woman strong in her faith and was a caregiver. She loved to read, play piano, flower gardening, spending time with God through Bible readings and morning devotions.

Martha was a member of the 1962 Class of Winder-Barrow High School and the Ft. Yargo Cloggers. A self taught scrollsaw artist, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a cancer survivor, prayer warrior and operated Skinner’s Bible Book Store in the mid 1970s.

Surviving are Children, Donna Goman of Winder, Georgia, Darrell (Janet) Skinner of Hoschton, Georgia and Sharon (Chris) Schwartz of Winder, Georgia, Grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Coker of Winder, Georgia, Taylor (Nicole) Skinner of Commerce, Georgia, Great Grandchildren, Emmy, Clay and Hudson Coker of Winder, Georgia, Cole and Ethan Long of Commerce, Georgia, Sisters, Mary Cofield of Heflin, Alabama, Elizabeth Hutto of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Deborah Bowles of St. Augustine, Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive friends Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M.at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Skinner and Rev. Susan Burg officiating. Interment will be in the Nazareth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
