Mrs. Luella M. Germain stepped into eternity the evening of December 12, 2019, just three days shy of her 95th birthday. She is survived by three children, Larry, Rick and Twyla; daughter in law, Lois; grandchildren Melody, Jasmine, Zachary, Jiji, John, and David; and a multitude of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Born December 15, 1924, in Barryton, Michigan, she married George Germain and they attended college together. She postponed the last year of school to be a mother. Returning after many years to obtain her teaching certification and a Master’s degree in Education, she taught first grade for 30 years.
Luella was active in many, many church activities; she also participated for many years in Brenau College extension classes, The Quinlan Art Center in Gainesville, and the Georgia Piedmont Arts Center in Barrow County. She won multiple awards for her hand-built pottery. She also was an avid gardener, quilter and painter.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, Georgia. The date will be announced at a later time.
She will be missed by many.
