Lee Mcelhannon

January 7, 1940 — July 30, 2024

Mr. Garland Lee McElhannon, age 84, of Winder, Georgia entered peace July 30, 2024. A native and lifelong resident of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Ewell Garland and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts McElhannon and was the brother of the late Ruby Faye McElhannon. He was a site inspector with Gwinnett County and was a member of Stoney Creek Methodist Church. Mr. McElhannon was a U. S. Army Veteran.

Surviving are Wife, Susan Stephens McElhannon, of Winder, Georgia, Son and Daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Dena McElhannon of Winder, Georgia, Daughter and Son-in-law, Natalie and Chip Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia, Grandchildren, Hamilton McElhannon, Josie McElhannon, Fox Lewis and Rex Lewis, and Sister, Ann Elizabeth McElhannon of Winder, Georgia.

The Family will receive friends Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. from the Stoney Creek Methodist Church with Rev. James Mooneyhan officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 1:30 P. M. Interment will be in the McElhannon Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
