Kathryn "Kathy" Duke Owens

Mrs. Kathryn " Kathy" Duke Owens, age 71, of Winder, Georgia died October 13, 2014. A native of Flowery Branch, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Annie Bell Reed Duke. She served as the Human Resource Director at Winder Health Care and Rehab. Mrs. Owens was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a former resident of Marietta, Georgia. She had resided in Winder for the past Twenty-eight years. Surviving are Husband, Rufus Owens of Winder, Children, Bryan Owens of Brooklyn, New York, Janet (Daniel) Roberts of Zebulon, Georgia and Jon (Meredith) Owens of Bethlehem, Grandchildren, Sam Owens of Bethlehem, Anna Roberts and Ella Roberts both of Zebulon, Georgia, Siblings, Joe Duke of Clermont, Frank Duke and Annette Compton both of Flowery Branch.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A. M., Thursday, October 16, 2014 from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. David Cook officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 2-4 P. M. and from 7-9 P. M. at the funeral home.
