Mrs. Joyce Walden, age 85, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Mrs. Walden was a longtime and devoted member of Winder First Baptist Church. She was also a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan!
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Bill" M. Walden; parents, Homer C. Burns and Guy Nell Smith Burns; and siblings, Roy Burns, Homer "Buck" Burns, Bessie Bibb Bunch, and Willene Pitts.
Mrs. Walden is survived by her daughter, Tammy Even of Athens; brother, Clinton (Cathy) Burns of Fairplay, SC; grandson, Jarrod (Cara) Wells of Huntersville, NC; and one great granddaughter, Ava Grace Wells of Huntersville, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder with Rev. Irby Stanley officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour at Carter Funeral Home.
The family respectfully request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Winder First Baptist Church at 625 Jefferson Hwy, Winder, GA 30680, for the loving care that they have given to Mrs. Walden.
