Mr. John Willie Davis, age 80, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Davis was employed for thirty-four years as a truck driver. During his career, he traveled throughout the entire Continental United States. John enjoyed fishing and was a loving family man. He will be best remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Davis was ministered under Reverend John Burchfield for the last nine years.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila Dianne Davis; son, Anthony Davis; parents, Clyde James Davis and Uma Haney Davis; sister, Betsy Dailey; and grandson, Austin Ragusa.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of fourteen years, “Bunni” Hopson Davis of Winder; children, Sandi Oliver of Molena, Clyde Davis of Auburn, Johnny Davis Jr. of Bogart, John (Shannon) Ragusa of Winder, Dawn (David) Mason of Dayton, VA, and Christine (Scott) Pritz of Light House Pointe, Fl; siblings, Raymond (Sis) Davis of Braselton and Ruth Wright of Social Circle; grandchildren, Amber (Phillip) Navarre, Justin (Nicole) Hulsey, Solita, Daniel, Blaine, Jaxon, Anthony, Cecily, and Emily Davis, Domenic (Kara) Hopson, Dust’N Jones, Scott and Nicholas Pritz, Rayne, Justice, Scarlett, Santino, Rhiannon, and Mattox Ragusa; along with numerous great-grandchildren and a host of extended friends and family.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. John Davis will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. John Burchfield officiating. Burial will follow the service at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceville. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home.
