Mr. James Wedrell “Dru” Madox, age 71, of Auburn, Georgia passed away October 13, 2023. A lifelong resident of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Posey and Lottie James Maddox. He was a retiree of the Georgia Department of Transportation where he served as an asphalt plant manager. Dru was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing most all of his life. He was a member of Hoschton First Baptist Church and was a 1971 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School.
Surviving are Wife, Sue Price Maddox of Auburn, Georgia, Sons and Daughters-in-law, Stephen and Leslie Maddox of St. Simons, Georgia, Scott and Hayley Maddox of Auburn, Georgia, Daughter and Son-in-law, Pam and Doyle Fincher of Douglasville, Georgia, Sister, Carolyn Hardy of Auburn, Georgia, Grandchildren, Logan Maddox, Caleb Maddox, Destiny Maddox, Jessica, Watson, Charlie Abernathy, Rebecca Abernathy, Caroline Abernathy, David Cook, Jill Barfield and Cristy Caldwell, and a host of Great Grandchildren.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. from the Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Cory Sexton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hoschton First Baptist Church Building Fund, 380 Sam Freeman Road, Hoschton, Georgia 30548.
