Mr. James R. "Jim" Bays, age 79, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Bays is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Bays and Othella Richardson Bays; son, Joshua Steed; brother, David Bayes; nephew, Michael Bayes; and grandchild, Donavon Bays.
Mr. Bays is survived by his loving wife, Melanie House Bays; sons, Zachary (Janelle) Bays, Austin (Julianne) Steed, Jason Bays, Daughter Jennifer Meadows, daughter-in-law Jamie Steed, Grandson’s John Steed, Jace Steed and soon-to-be Baby Boy Bays, Granddaughters, Alora Steed, and Hope Meadows, and one great-grandson; sister-in-law Veta Weatherford and nephews, Larry (Dena) Bayes, Waylon (Tammy) and Marty Weatherford.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Jim Bays will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at New Pentecost United Methodist Church, 385 Pleasant Hill Church Road NE Winder, Georgia with Rev. Mike Peavy officiating. The family will be receiving friends following the service in the fellowship hall of New Pentecost United Methodist Church, where a reception will be held.
