Hugh Allen McInnis, 80, of Winder, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3PM, Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Winder with the Rev. Bob Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at funeral home. Entombment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McInnis was born September 18, 1938 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Hugh McInnis, Jr and Hertha Green McInnis. He attended Southern Mississippi University where he played football. Mr. McInnis was drafted in the first round, third selection by the former St. Louis Cardinals of the AFL and Houston Oilers of the NFL. He later played for the Detroit Lions. His career in football spanned from 1960 until 1964. He was the former owner of HKB services. Mr. McInnis was of the Presbyterian faith.
He is survived by his sister, Judie Rustin of Winder as well as many cousins also survive.
