Gloria R. Carlyle

August 24, 1937 — May 16, 2023

Gloria Rebecca Huff Carlyle (85) passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2023, with her family lovingly by her side.

Born August 24th, 1937 to Ruby and Augustus Huff. Gloria was raised in Atlanta, Georgia with her sisters, Barbara Ann Webb, Delores Imogene Powers, and Shirley Meeks. Gloria met her soulmate and the love of her life, James Carlyle, Sr. while working at Randall Brothers in Atlanta. It was love at first sight, and they were happily married for over 55 years until his death in 2015.

Gloria was a fun-loving, feisty, and faithful lady who loved Jesus more than anything. Her family was a close second to her Lord and Savior. Forever proud of her children, Jimmy (Kim), Jackie (Joe), and Jeff (Karen) she would happily say they were “her greatest accomplishments.” Gloria was joyfully “Gigi” to Jessica (Jason), JT, Cameron, and Rylann, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved greater than she ever imagined possible.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Kim) Carlyle of Winder, Jackie (Joe) Robinson of Winder, and Jeff (Karen) Carlyle of Bethlehem. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Dehart of Winder and JT Carlyle of Houston, TX, and her great-grandchildren Cameron Dehart and Rylann McDougald as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gloria had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, thoughtful, and the ultimate caregiver who always put everyone else first. She will be dearly missed by the many lives she touched.

To honor Gloria’s wishes, there are no services planned.
