Elizabeth "Libby" Brownlee

Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Brownlee, age 61, of Winder, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Brownlee served at Ingles Market as a cashier for over twenty years. She will be best remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Brownlee is preceded in death by her father, Carl Besterman; mother, Phyllis Mathis; step-father, Frank Mathis; and brother, Mark “Bud” Besterman.

Mrs. Brownlee is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve B. Brownlee of Winder; children, Derrick (Elizabeth McVay) Brownlee of St. Augustine, Florida, and Mandy (Matt) Merritt of Savannah; grandchildren, Brooks Brownlee, Jackson Merritt, Beau Brownlee, Riley Merritt, and Burns Brownlee; sister, Ellen Walker of Villa Rica; step-mother, Karen Besterman of Columbus; and step-brothers, Craig and Dale Manning both of Columbus.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Libby Brownlee will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Head officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home.
