Dorothy Akins Ferguson

Mrs. Dorothy Akins Ferguson, age 94, of Winder, Georgia passed away October 6, 2021. A native and lifelong resident of Barrow County, Dorothy was born April 20, 1927 to the late Jeffie C. and Hattie Mae Shaw Akins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ferguson, son, Stanley Ferguson and granddaughter, Julie Jacks. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian and was a retired seamstress.

Surviving are Children, Jon Ferguson of Winder, Georgia, Stacey Ferguson of Winder, Georgia, Becky Bates of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Nancy Ferguson of Winder, Georgia, Sister, Belle Chandler of Winder, Georgia, Six Grandchildren and a number of Great Grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. John Burchfield officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
