Mr. Donald Finch, age 82, of Winder, Georgia died Friday, May 13, 2016. A Native of Statham, Georgia he was a son of the late Leslie and Annie Lou Hardigree Finch. Mr. Finch was a deacon and member of Union Baptist Church in Winder, an Army Veteran serving as a MP and drove a gas and fuel truck for Leon Pruitt for 25 years before retiring. He was preceded by his wife of 46 years Leida Wheeler Finch in 2011.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Terry Conner of Winder, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Powers will officiate. Interment will be in the Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Flowers accepted or memorials to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Watkinsville, Georgia 30677.
