Billy Dee Cox

Mr. Billy Dee Cox, age 75, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Cox was a professional singer and entertainer. He was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. Mr. Cox also served the United States faithfully in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Cox is preceded in death by his parents, William Egbert Cox and Lillie Peacock Cox; and a grandchild, Justina Rae Barnes.

Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Debbie Freeman Cox of Bethlehem; children, Billy Ryan (Nancy) Cox of Lawrenceville, Tammie Cher’re (Gary) Goodroe of Dacula, Charles (June) Cox of Grayson, Jeffrey Dean Cox of Winder, Leif Shannon (Kristen) Cox of Covington, Priscilla Belle Cox of Covington, Jadon Martin Cox of Bethlehem, Casey Alan Martin Cox of Bethlehem, and Nova Jade Cox of Bethlehem; sister, Gail Walsh of Lagrange; and numerous grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Wayne Rickard officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home.
