Barbara Jones Stephens

Mrs. Barbara Jones Stephens, age 90, of Winder, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband Tirrie J. (Jack) Stephens, her parents Jimmy and Runette Jones, and her brother Bobby Jones (Pat). She is survived by her sister Delores Anderson (Andy), children Tim Stephens (Edie) and Doug Stephens (Amber), grandchildren Matt Stephens, Curt Stephens, Christy Davidson (Brett), Madelyne Osborne (Adam), great-grandson Jack Osborne, and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born on August 30, 1931 in Atlanta. She was an Honor Graduate of Bass High School in Atlanta, Class of 1949, and played in the band and orchestra. She was also a church organist for 25 years and enjoyed a career as bookkeeper for an insurance company. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed her exercise classes at the Y. Donations may be made to Winder First Baptist, where Barbara was a faithful member and was treasurer of the Faithful Ones Sunday School Class.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia with Rev. Chad Mantooth officiating.
