Maddox-Carter Memorial Home

My name is Hunter Maddox and I am the owner, funeral director, and embalmer of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home. I am honored to carry on the legacy of locally owned funeral service here in Barrow County. For the past several years I served as a funeral director at Carter Funeral Home alongside Lonnie Carter. In 2024, I became the owner of the funeral home, which became Maddox-Carter Memorial Home. 


I was born and raised in Winder, Georgia as the son of Al and Melanie Cabe Maddox. I am a graduate of Winder-Barrow High School, the University of North Georgia, and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. 


My passion for funeral service began at the age of ten when my grandfather, Thornton B. Cabe, tragically passed away in an automotive accident. From the moment we walked into the funeral home and I witnessed the care that my family received on the worst day of our life, I realized my purpose in life is to serve God as a funeral director in this community.

Utilize a verified phone number that you are familiar with, and not one provided in a text message, email, or phone call from the scammer. In case you're unsure of the legitimate contact information, you can locate it on the General Price List you received from the funeral home.
